Jobs, from booking to done

How a job moves through the Workshop app, from the first booking to a finished work order.

Every job in Enroute is a work order. It holds the customer and vehicle, the tasks to do, the parts used, the time your team spends on it, and the notes and photos along the way.

Starting a job

You can start a work order in a few ways:

  • create one directly, choosing the customer and vehicle and adding the tasks
  • book the vehicle in on your diary
  • send the customer a quote, and turn it into a work order when they accept

Each work order gets its own job number automatically. Add your own PO or reference if you have one.

Tasks and your team

Add the tasks for the job, either one by one or from a template you've saved for common jobs. Each task can carry an estimate, the parts it needs, and whether the technician must take photos.

Assign the technicians who'll do the work. The job appears in their Worker app, where they record their time on each task and sign their work off.

While the job is running

A work order is Booked until work starts, then In Progress. If it's held up, for example while you wait on parts or on the customer, put it On Hold with the reason, and resume it when you're ready.

You can add or change tasks, update notes and photos, and see the time each technician has spent, at any point while the job is open.

Finishing the job

When every task is complete, end the job. The work order becomes Completed and a draft invoice is created for you to review. Invoices and getting paid covers what happens next.

If a job isn't going ahead, you can cancel it instead.
